Harbor Works welcomes volunteers who have a strong interest in visual, documentary storytelling. Volunteers help to promote an awareness of the challenges for working waterfronts and sustainable commercial fisheries by engaging visitors from away. They preserve the uniqueness of Cundy’s Harbor by supporting a visual arts gallery that is a cultural and educational resource. They represent the community by sharing their experiences, knowledge and hospitality. Volunteers have an opportunity to explore their interests in the history of photography, documentary storytelling and curatorial techniques. They discover the history of North America’s other resource-based industries, from hard rock mining to old growth logging.
